The problem
Every year, millions of students in India choose a Class 11 stream with little more than parental advice, peer pressure, or a vague notion of what different careers involve. Many discover years later, often mid-degree, that the career they are training for is nothing like they imagined.
The Solution: We did not want to tell students which career to choose. We wanted to show them what each career actually looks like — and let them decide.

Who built this
Pencilastic is built by Mitesh Shah, who spent fifteen years in industry after a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder, USA.
Most career guidance is written by people qualified in counselling. This is built by someone who has actually done the work, and hired people to do it — which is a different kind of authority, and the one we think matters when the question is “what is this job really like?”
